Surfing the Net

We have been surfing the net recently in order to teach the little one what sites are good and which sites are not. It amazes me every time we do this what some people will place on the Internet for others to find. Teaching a child from the start what to avoid etc.... is the best skill you can give them in this cyber age.
We have found some wonderful sites related to homeschooling and I've added them to my blogs. Feel free to check them out.
Lessons are going well and we are learning about the human body. Our Daughter is enchanted with what her insides really look like and what they do. She's reading on her own and writing small plays for the family to act out. Music is her passion at the moment and her Dad is teaching her how to read music. It's funny, he can read it but, not play it, I can play it by ear and can't read it. We make a great team, she gets to learn both ways.
Things are gearing up for her half day school and little artists classes next month. The fact that she gets to do this with other homeschoolers instead of children from public school appeals to me. The philosophies between Homeschoolers and Public Schoolers are totally opposite in thought and deed. I prefer to stay with the Homeschoolers.
We are still dealing with snow here and there and that is frustrating at best. We plan and outing and then POOF the plans are can celled due to snow. I can't wait for Spring. I've had enough of the white stuff for a while.
